Preserving observations, not just pages
News Ledger records what approved publisher feeds exposed, when each response was observed, and which fields changed. Captures and article versions carry SHA-256 fingerprints, while predecessor links keep the revision chain inspectable.
An append-only evidence model
SQLite triggers reject updates and deletes to feed captures, article versions, classifications, and reception snapshots. The collector creates a new version only when the normalized article fingerprint changes.
A deliberate public boundary
Public views expose source-provided metadata, short excerpts, revision counts, and provenance. Full feed payloads and body text remain private evidence, and classifications retain their publisher, machine, or human origin.
